Overview:
Hydraulic piston accumulators are used to store pressure energy of incompressible fluids (liquids) by means of compressible fluids (Nitrogen gas). A hydraulic piston accumulator consists of a piston which separates the accumulator into liquid section and gas section. The gas section is pre-charged with Nitrogen gas and the liquid section is connected to the hydraulic circuit. When the hydraulic circuit pressure increases, the liquid enters in liquid section so that gas is compressed. When the pressure drops, the compressed gas expands and expels the stored liquid into the circuit
